Krista Pell has more than 13 years experience in the people management and learning and development sectors. As the head of the learning and development function for BrightIdeas, Krista oversees all relevant offerings including facilitation, consulting, special projects and organizational design, maintaining a philosophy that a culture of learning within the workplace is paramount to staff development.
Krista relocated to the Cayman Islands in 2006 from Canada, leaving behind her previous position as the district human resource and training manager for Best Buy Limited where she oversaw in excess of 1,000 employees and 50 managers. As an adult learning specialist, Krista has taught in a variety of fields including retail, hospitality, financial services, operations and business management.
Krista possesses a BA degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada as well as her Senior Professional in Human Resources designation from the Human Resources Certification Institute, internationally-recognized as the top HR designation in North America. Over the years, she has also earned certification in adult learning, HR management, disc Profile and Strengthsfinder. She is also a member of the Cayman Islands Society of Human Resources Professionals, Society for Human Resource Management and the American Society for Training and Development.
Krista is active in the local community, volunteering her time as a board member for Junior Achievement and the Joanna Clarke Foundation and as a member of the Cayman Islands National Women’s Rugby Team.
